فيرفكس بين الإصدارات السريعة والشركات

قرار موزيلا الاخير بالتوجه نحو الاصدارات السريعة من فيرفكس أدى لخلق عدة مشاكل للشركات التي اعتمدت فيرفكس كمتصفحها الرئيسي، فسرعة اصدار نسخة جديدة مرة كل ٦ اسابيع قام بإرباك الشركات التي سوف يتطلب منها مجهود إضافي لفحص توافق تطبيقاتها مع الإصدارات الجديدة وكذلك تحميل النسخ الجديدة على أجهزة المستخدمين. ولأن موزيلا هدفها الأول هو إيصال أحدث التكنولوجيا لكافة المستخدمين والإستماع لشكواهم قامت موزيلا بتشكيل مجموعة بحث خاصة للشركات حيث قامت بتوجيه دعوة مفتوحة لجميع الشركات والمهتمين للمشاركة في هذه المجموعة وتم إنشاء مجموعة تتكون من موظفين من موزيلا  و ممثيلين عن الشركات المهتمه ومتطوعين مهتمين بهذا المجال وذلك للتوصل لأرضية مشتركة بين موزيلا والشركات، وخلال شهرين من المباحثات واللقاءات تم التوصل الى اقتراح يقوم بارضاء جميع الاطراف وهي نسخة من فيرفكس بدعم مطول للشركات حيث ستوفر موزيلا دعم لهذا الاصدار وتحديث لفترة ٧ اصدارات متتالية اي ٤٢ اسبوع. وخلال هذه الفترة ستوفر موزيلا تحديثات لهذه النسخ اذا وجد فيها مشاكل متعلقة بالأمن على الانترنت. ولن تقوم موزيلا بالإعلان عن هذه النسخة من خلال صفحتها الرئيسية ولكن فقط من خلال صفحتها المتعلقة بالشركات وسوف يتم تسميتها بإسم آخر بالإضافة لفيرفكس Firefox ESR لكي يتم تميزها عن نسخة فيرفكس الإعتيادية. وبعد إنتهاء مدة ٤٢ اسبوع او ٧ اصدارات من فيرفكس ستقوم موزيلا بتحديث نسخة الدعم المطول تلقائيا. وهذه النسخ ستعمل على ويندوز وماك ولينكس ولن تشمل نسخة فيرفكس الجوال. الرسمة التالية هي لتوضيح الفرق بين نسخة فيرفكس ونسخة فيرفكس بالدعم المطول Firefox ESR

وبناءا على الرسم السابق فإن عملية فحص نسخ فيرفكس ذو الدعم المطول ستتم قبل الاصدار ب ١٢ اسبوعا لكي تعطي الشركات فرصة اكبر للتأكد من توافق التطبيقات مع النسخة الجديدة وأيضا سيتم إعطاء ١٢ اسبوع آخر لعملية التحميل للنسخ الجديدة والتحول إليها. إذا كنت أحد المهتمين بهذه الاصدارات من فيرفكس قم بالإنضمام للمجموعة الشركات وشارك فيها وأسمع صوتك لموزيلا.

Anroid Arabic support in Honeycomb (aka Android 3.0)

After having my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v for almost one week, I am ready to write a full review about the Arabic support in Android 3.0 with a video 🙂 so stay tune for this weekend.

Finally official Arabic supports to Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)

Yesterday Google released a preview version of Android 3.0 SDK and its emulator, yes it officially supports Arabic language. No more patches and more custom ROMs  to get Arabic in your Android.

Now we only have to wait the release of it… More information read here and here

My plan for the New Year 2011

2010 was one of the best year I ever had in the last 3 decades, and I am happy that I am starting a next decade with new life and new job. So I summarize few things I will do them next year as part of continuous life improvement to myself 😀

  • I promise myself starting from next year to stop talking about politics. This means no more political discussions or argument, of course I will still read news and see how things around the world is going especially in my region but just the headlines no more no less. Enough politics
  • I decide to give myself a break every week from Technology  things and stay away from my laptop. I guess these things are consumed more than I think and there are lots of things in our life deserve to spend more time with.
  • Give more attention to people around me, and if I could help one person at least a month I will be statisfied with myself
  • Give more attention to my health, and take myself to a further step from where I am standing now.
  • Learn something new in my career path and add to it, also improve what I already have and polish it
  • Visiting the countries around specially France and Italy

A new start… A new life

I was away for couples of weeks busy with my new life, yes it is a new life.. After 9 years living in Jordan I decide to leave Jordan and start a new life somewhere else. I am now in Netherlands working their, trying to start a new life here, build my career, widen my knowledge and knowing new culture. Change is a universal law, and a change in your life will always give you more experience and teach you new things.

I will be back writing in my blog again about this is new start and experience once I move to my new home and settle down.

Zain e-Go Service in Jordan

Today Zain Jordan launch the e-Go service, the wireless internet connection without a landline… I am already a customer of Zain longtime ago and happy with their service. I called the customer service (1234) and asked the staff to give me more information. She was friendly with me, she gave me all price schema (already checked it from the website). I asked her about the coverage she said it is 99% of Amman area, you can either get a USB device or a wireless modem (USB is free for 2.4 and 5 mbps customers). I asked her if I can convert from ADSL to Wireless and what about if I reach my limit how much the speed gonna drop, she asked me to wait on phone to get more information, after 1 minute she said to me I can’t convert from ADSL to wireless (not big deal), but she said till now there is no policy for the download limitation because the first two months are free download limit (till the two months are ended, at the time company will find a policy) and there is no free download limit time as ADSL (on ADSL from 10 pm to 7 am, and Friday). I guess I will wait more because my ADSL will end this December and the prices will change more and will have more offers
